Resilient auto recovery Project and Livelihood and WASH support to IDPs

 

Goal: Resilient auto recovery Project is a recovery project designed for the recovering WASH facilities and livelihood options of earthquake victims of two VDCs of Rasuwa District from April 2015 to December 2017.

Objectives: It was an integrated project that included WASH and Livelihood activities together. The project activities included the maintenance and construction of WASH facilities (Both in the community and School) and the promotion of livelihood options with value chain establishment.

  • Promoted mechanization in the farming system. Distributed 18 mini tillers to farmers’ group
  • Renovated/constructed 14 Irrigation schemes with a command area of 2,726 Ropanis (139 hectares) of 461 farming HHs. It contributed to increasing vegetable farming significantly in the areas.
  • Promoted vegetable marketing at the local level. Supported to set up five collection centers
  • Promoted seed production business of corn, paddy, and ginger. There are 92 HHs continuing it with increased income.
  • All the earthquake-damaged DWSs were renovated.
  • All the schools of Target VDCs were provided with safe drinking water facilities.
